Enameling is a process in which enamel (powdered glass) is applied to a metal surface, such as copper and heated to 1400-1500 degrees therefore bonding the glass to the metal. I
typically use copper in my jewelry pieces and have started torch firing steel for my sculptures.
A note about the earrings.
I have sensitive skin and usually can only wear 14K gold. I purchased these earring hooks in the hopes that I would be able to wear them and to my absolute delight I can! I have worn both the silver and the gold ALL day and have had
no irritation.
All earrings are counter enameled (enameled on the back) for a smooth professional finish.
Blue Swirl Twirl
This set was fired multiple times and is fired on the back as well. While the glass was molten, I used a pick to 'stretch' some of the glass.
The necklace pendant is 1-1/2" square and is strung on leather cord about 20" long and is adjustable. Earring findings are non-allergic.

Watercolor Whimsy
I don't think I could re-create these if I tried as this was one of those 'happy accidents'. Yellow, green, blue, white and a dash of red make these very wearable. Sterling Silver
