I’ve decided to answer a question that has long been bothering me….If I’m so talented, why aren’t I more successful? Which kind of implies I’m not successful. Maybe the problem lies within the question. Maybe the question IS the problem. (More on that later)
The first question
I think the first question to answer is what does success mean to me. If I don’t what that is how will I ever know if I get there? I could be there now and not know it! Success is a very personal thing and I feel some people and probably myself at times, have bought into an idea of success that really doesn’t fit who we are. The media is a pushy beast.
So for me success is being excited to start my day, feeling great about my life, feeling full (not food but heart), having enough money to do the things I need and want, creative freedom and freedom to do what I want when I want. Too far fetched?
The next question
How do I get there? That my friends is a very good question. In some ways I’m there or very close.
So my goal in this blog is to figure out what I am doing or not doing that is preventing me from getting where I want to be. It’s easy to get comfortable in a job or way of life and not take some risks. I read a great quote some time back – “Life is lived outside your comfort zone” and unfortunately I can’t remember who said that. I think that is true and I am willing to step outside my comfort zone, ok maybe small steps, and start moving toward what I want.
In the coming weeks I will share what I’m doing or not doing, to create the life of my dreams. Please feel free to share your thoughts!
